Penumbra on CD

C.O.R.E. (Collection of Raw Energy) Russ Holcomb - Lead Vocals/Guitar Brady Simpson - Bass/Vocals Eric Austin - Drums/Percussion C.O.R.E. is a Hard Rock Power Trio hailing from the mid-Michigan area formed in 2001. C.O.R.E. has established a reputation for being one of the best local acts in the Michigan area. Heavily melodic, drum oriented Rock music that incorporates multiple styles to form a unique sound that's original and stands out in today's mundane music scene. C.O.R.E. walks the line between quiet whispers and climatic distorted explosions. Their not afraid to push the boundaries of what's expected in Rock music, which keeps the music interesting while songs continue to have different personalities. C.O.R.E. released a self titled EP in late 2004 (Studio One in Lansing, MI) to great reviews and response, pushing more than several hundred copies. The next few years would see C.O.R.E. Cement their status in the local scene, due to their commanding stage presence, rabid loyal following, passion, and high energy. Their leaving a lasting impression, and inspiring new fans w/ every passing day to join the Core army! During this time C.O.R.E. would be aired on one of mid-Michigan's largest radio stations Lansing's Q106 (on multiple occasions). They would also start being aired daily on multiple online radio stations, like scrub radio. 2007 would see C.O.R.E. share the stage with National acts (like Psychostick, and Seven Mary Three),and take 2nd (out of 124 bands) in Q106's Homegrown battle of the bands. This just proved that C.O.R.E. had become something much bigger than just 3 musicians finding their musical voice. 2008 would see C.O.R.E. keep a fairly low profile which would give the band time to raise money for the new album, recharge, and get into the studio to start recording with K..Pople at Elpop Studios (Eaton Rapids, MI). All of the Money, Time, and Hard work paid off. The new highly anticipated album PENUMBRA was released on Halloween (10/31/08) to very excited, eager C.O.R.E. fans! Penumbra touches on multiple moods, and textures proving to have something for everyone. In the darkest corner of darkness, there is light and beauty.......PENUMBRA!
