1995 saw the formation of Blue Honey in Portland, OR by Matt, Mitch and Tom. Blue Honey went on to record two full-length self-released CD's, and although some additional members rounded the sound, the group disbanded in 1998. A personal hiatus followed for all involved, and the spring of 2006 brought life-long friends together for what was at first called 'music night'. New material was written as well as some needed re-tooling of the older original material, and the group Bucyrus Erie was born on December 22, 2006. Chris joined the band as a full time member just four months later, and has brought a wealth of rhythmic knowledge and the exact 'feel' the band has been seeking. Often called "Modern Roots-Rock" by fans, the band is at it's best when performing original material live. "Silo", the brand-new debut album by Bucyrus Erie was recorded live in the studio and contains 11 original songs and a cover of Dire Straits' "Once Upon a Time in the West."
