Skin & Bones on CD

It's not country, It's not rock, It's not the blues, It's... The Bonesmen No fancy adjectives when it comes to The Bonesmen. Not as far as this music is concerned, and not as far as this band is concerned either. This is rock 'n roll Bonesmen style, plain and simple. Your father's rock 'n roll, your drunken uncle's rock 'n roll, and your rock 'n roll. Having emerged on the music scene as New Haven's preeminent live band, The Bonesmen, with their hit intensive songs, energized live performances, individual style and ever widening fan base are 'not trying to reinvent the wheel; they just want to do their part in keeping it rolling' says Vinny Penn, DJ, WKCI 101.3 FM. Combining two of the essential elements of what early rock 'n roll is, country and blues, The Bonesmen have carved out a unique sound that breeds the familiarity that first time and longtime listeners know and love. Comprised of lead singer and guitar player Frank Thomas, bass player Kenny Dempsey, lead guitar player Mark Turko and Drew Carrano on drums, the four Connecticut musicians have the right blend of cutting-edge creativity, style and hook-intensive lyrics to ignite today's audiences as well as multi-format radio. Founding member and front man Frank Thomas states ' This is good times music, it's supposed to be fun, the kind that is cranked up in your backyard on a hot summer day with the grill going and a fresh keg tapped'. 'Everyone likes a good song that they can carry with them in their head' adds Turko, 'We are taking the blueprints for music that our rock and roll forefathers laid out before us and simply following tradition' explains Dempsey. Drew Carrano goes on to say' this isn't complicated stuff, we know that, that's what makes it great to me'. In a day and age where the majority of the product making it's way out of recording sessions is all sheen and no substance, it's nice to hear one that seems to have been made exactly the way it's title suggests : Skin and Bones.
