The Blackketter Brothers (Paul and Mike) have been in a band since they were eight years of age. Paul who is 4 years older then Mike plays the guitar, and Mike plays the drums. These two have been through numerous bands and played gigs all over the north state and some shows down in the Sacramento and bay area. As of February 05 they have been playing as a three-some with a bass player named Chase Reno. Paul Blackketter started playing recitals on the piano when he was eight and got his first guitar when he was 17 in high school 1960 flat back, and his first electric guitar in 1965; a Dan Electro and a Una -Box amp. His next amp was a Fender Strat through Marshal. Ever since one day in school during his lunch hour he had his amp and his guitar out side and he was just playing along by himself. People he didn't notice started gathering around him while he just kept playing not realizing he had attracted a crowd. By the time lunch was over he had almost the whole student body standing behind him. Ever since then he had been known to play the guitar and play it well. Mike Blackketter, who is the younger one, has been playing the drums ever since Paul started forcing him on pots, pans and boxes when he was only 4 years old. He soon upgraded to set of Pearl drums. So through their high school years they were in a band and performed in front of the school. And every single year after that they played gigs together at the fair grounds, the theater, and at the park. The two of them together know almost a thousand song; originals plus covers. And they have also produced their own CD with all originals. Chase Reno has just recently joined the two brothers. Chase has been playing the bass guitar for 8 years now and has been in a few bands starting at 13 years old. Chase's first bass was a Mako, then a headless single piece Honer, and now he has a 5 string Samick With a custom 2X10 1X15 Bass Stack. He has played gigs and house parties all over Chico and Red Bluff. He has played in front of two high schools in Red Bluff and the park a couple times. He has recorded an instrumental album his one of his current bands. He's also a sophomore in college and majoring in "music and recording art", and has already started an Unknown project. Now that the three of them are together the will be playing gigs throughout California, possibly in Reno, and they want to "Rock the world!" as well. A few of Paul and Mike's influences include the bands; the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, and the Doors. Chase is from a slightly different generation and is influenced by Rage against the Machine, Sublime, Primus, and some punk rock. Their style is a rock kind of bluesy sound with the addition of Chases harder hitting bass lines. The combination is perfect and the sound is amazing.
