Second Chance Meeting on CD

Glen Birch and Norm Compton formed in the summer of 2004. A duo of songwriting performers with the release of their first CD '2nd Chance Meeting' they showcase their writing talents with 5 individual songs a piece, and 2 collaborations. They are an eclectic fusion of several styles of music. These 2 songwriters also show their diversity by playing, producing, and engineering the CD themselves. Glen birch comes from a very musical background. Including being front man, lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, drummer and part time bassist for a few cover bands in Montréal and Calgary. He also started taking time to produce, engineer, and play various instruments and vocals as a session man for other artists he's recorded. Carrying these duties over he has done all of the instruments and vocals on all of his solo recordings. In forming Birch-N-Slade with Norm Compton the tasks are now split in 2 with Norm filling the missing pieces. Norm Compton has also played in various bands over the years mostly located in the interior of British Columbia Canada. Although his main instrument was the bass guitar, at times he's filled in as a lead/rhythm guitarist, drummer and lead vocalist. Graduated with 2 years of commercial music completed at Capilano College studying music theory and songwriting. In 1998 Norm was one of the winners of the Okanagan songwriters competition and his music was featured on a compilation CD 'Freestyle' sold in stores across B.C.
