Daylight Savings Time on CD

Bernadett Belinda York, born in Chicago, has always carried a deep and serious passion for music and all levels of the performing arts. She recalls, "As a little girl I'd just sit and sing by the radio and dream I was already a part of that world on stage as a little side-kick to Stevie Nicks or Bette Midler." Daylight Savings Time is Miss York's first full-length album. "I've been singing since I was two but the writing came around the age of ten. They started out as poems for a while, then little melodies, and when I learned guitar in the eighth grade- I found a way to put it all together." Some influences growing up include: Stevie Nicks, Bette Midler, David Bowie, Bernadette Peters (Whom she was named after), Nat King Cole, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Sade, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, and Bonnie Raitt (to name a few). In May of 2006 she received a BFA in Music Business and Vocal Performance from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and plans to use every bit of her studies and experiences to pursue her dreams. Bernadett explains earnestly that, " Being a musician is almost like having the ability to speak every language there is on earth. You can communicate through the miracle of song and have people feel things that you could never express through words, which has been proven in many ethnomusicology literature and findings. To be a songwriter is to have the perfect opportunity to express yourself and tell your story- when you listen you will learn, and when you play you will teach- well, hopefully!" (2010) Bernadett Belinda York currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and is a TV, Film, and Stage actress. She is working on her newest album at Westlake Studios in Hollywood and has written tribute songs for TV shows such as 'Xena: Warrior Princess', 'Stargate: SG1', and 'The X-Files'. Her poetry has been published in two books and her career can be followed on twitter, facebook, myspace, and IMDB. Bernadett is very involved in philanthropy and enjoys donating her time and talents to organizations including 'The Matthew Kelly Foundation', 'Amnesty International', and 'IBG, Inc'. She enjoys painting, writing, reading, soccer, Sci-Fi conventions, and walkies with her dog Emma!
