Now We Are Kissed on CD

'On *Now We Shall Be Kissed*, [Ben Krieger] is in a mellow mood. He's turned off the Browns' game, had a couple too many beers, and his iPod is stuck on Heartbreaker. Most delightful is 'A Couple of Drinks.' I always wanted to walk into an empty bar and see Randy Newman and Paul Westerberg sitting together. Mind the psychotic teddy bears.' -- grandpaboy. Blogspot ========== (2005) FROM THE LINER NOTES - 'In the summer of 2005, Jon Light and I went into Hoboken's Pigeon Club and recorded some songs. 5 of them are on this CD. My intent was to capture the sound of the Modern Major Generals in the studio and then take the recordings home for post-production. I wanted the CD to resemble the shows with the Modern Major Generals, which are off-the-cuff, humorous, rough around the edges, and ultimately, fun. I hope this CD feels that way to you. It's not easy to get people out to a solo acoustic show if you have a rock band. GunStreetRadio was epic and loud and Friday night. My solo shows have always been quieter affairs ('Wednesday Night'?) more akin to The Wasabi Recordings and Drama Queen CDs. This EP is coming out along side another lo-fi project, the full length, prog epic, Queen of the Ocean, Commander of the Sea. I thanked a number of people in those liner notes. For this CD, I want to thank everyone who has ever come out to a show where I was playing on my own or, more recently, with any of the revolving crew that make up the Modern Major Generals. Many of you have been there from the beginning (Anybody remember 'Pick-up Line'?). You're still out there singing along and shouting out requests. And I'm blushing. Rock always, Ben Krieger.
