The CD was recorded and mastered at Giant Gumball Studios in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Mike O'Neill was the master engineer. D.L SCHWOCH: Lead Guitar, vocals Drawn to music at an early age, Doug began to realize it was a 'calling' when introduced to bands such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin in kindergarten. After 3 years of playing trumpet, his parents let him switch to guitar. At age 16, he began the long journey to fulfill his dream. Playing in numerous bands throughout his 6 years in the military, he returned to civilian life with a plan: put an original band together & Rock the Universe !!! After a long list of cover bands, Doug finally found a drummer (Jimmy) who 'got' his style of music and Bad January was at long last a reality. AMP: Lead Vocalist At an early age, Amp believed his 'Big Mouth' was only good for getting him in trouble...then he found Rock & Roll !!! The early 90's found Amp in a local cover band called 'EXIT'. EXIT had a huge following, playing everywhere & anywhere to hoards of screaming fans. After a few more cover bands, Amp was called to the helm of Bad January to fully utilize not only his hard rock vocal style, but his 'Larger than Life' stage presence. JIMMY JAMES: Drummer, vocals On Jimmy's Mother's side of the family, he had an uncle and a cousin who played piano & drums. At the age of 7, Jimmy started "rockin' the kit." His mother not only approved, but was very supportive of his Rock & Roll ambitions. His influences include The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Aerosmith & Metallica. Jimmy honed his skills in numerous bands in the Chicago area, including a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band called 'Red Sky'. Bad January is a great outlet to unleash Jimmy's hard hitting and expressive drum style. TOM THOMAS: Bass guitar With over 20 years of bass experience, Tom has played with a variety of bands: touring pop variety, country rock, blues, and hard rock. Tom's musical influences include Stevie Rae Vaughan, Gary Moore, AC/DC, Ozzy, Led Zepplin, The Who, Judas Priest, and Motley Crue. Tom started playing electric guitar in his early teens, but switched to bass in his 20's. His passion has always been power rock and working with the guys in Bad January is fulfilling that power need.
