Organic Produce on CD

Due to popular demand, Percussionist David Burrow has remastered the highly regarded collection of eclectic beats, added some new pieces, and finally released the recording on compact disc! Enjoy. From the producer- This music is especially designed for the modern dance studio, but feel free to listen wherever you want. The musical purpose of this recording is to offer a variety of tempi and subdivisions combined with a steady pulse. I hope this collection proves to be both useful and enjoyable. -David Burrow David Burrow is drummer and percussionist who began by bashing back-beats, grew up learning his standards, studied at a conservatory, and now combines his influences, instincts and education to create his sound. He is currently performing and teaching in Portland, OR. David's musical education began at Mt. Hood College where he studied with Hal Malcolm, Larry Zgonc and the late Larry McVey. It was there that his pursuit of Jazz began, logging countless hours of practicing and listening to Jazz records and the old KMHD. He went on to earn his Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance and Music Theory from the University of Oregon School of Music, studying percussion with Charles Dowd and theory with Dr. Robert Hurwitz. He currently enjoys teaching music theory and aural skills at Portland Community College. A composer of modern chamber music, Mr. Burrow's compositions have premiered at the Peabody Conservatory, Seattle's Bumbershoot festival, and Eugene's Beall Hall and Dougherty Dance Theatre. He is the artistic director and co-founder of the Aupchip Percussion Ensemble which performs and records chamber music without common limits. He has also accompanied master classes and performed with numerous choreographers including Bill T. Jones, David Parsons and the Alvin Ailey Co. David currently performs and records with the David Burrow Trio, the Bret Malmquist Trio, Coastal Steamer, Island Breeze, and his own group Bobblehead. His recorded work is also heard on compact discs by The Oregon Jazz Workshop, The Mare Wakefield Band, Laura Kemp, Love Death and Agriculture, The Olem Alves Quartet, and The Metropolitain Saxophone Quartet. ---------- --Maximilian Garroute 2004.
