Inspire on CD

Quick Overview My first self-produced CD, INSPIRE was released in the summer of 2007. I'm donating 100% of the profits to seven international charities. They are: Doctors Without Borders Habitat For Humanity Heifer International The Center For Peace Through Culture The Nature Conservancy UNICEF Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital I'm in the studio now recording the second. Check back in again soon for details. In the meantime, have a listen and enjoy! And read on for more intimate details. Influences I've had many love affairs with music, beginning when my parents played classical music in our home. In my pre-teens I fell in love with rock and roll. Then I was captivated by jazz. I developed a passion for the textures and rhythms of Middle Eastern music and the sounds of other cultures. If you listen, you'll hear echoes of these influences in my songs. I'm still inspired by the new music I hear every day. Musical Style My pop songs are about the beauty and joy in our lives. Sometimes they're about the trouble we get ourselves into as we try to love and be loved. They're about staying positive in what is often a negative world. Sometimes they're meant to make us laugh and at other times to cheer us on. Sometimes they're about getting out there every day and doing our best. My hope is that my songs give a lift to your day, like watching the sunrise on a quiet morning, like looking up and seeing someone you love walking toward you. Early Leanings Award Winning Fashion Designer Flashback to my first career while still in school as a designer of watches and jewelry, and then designing costumes for the Los Angeles Ballet Theatre. After graduating from university with an art degree I began what became a successful career as a fashion designer. I had no idea yet that I was going to become a musician! Opening my own menswear business with my partner, singer Lou Rawls, I quickly won a National Design award for my creations. Some of my designs and interviews appeared in the Calendar and View sections of the L.A. Times and Newsweek Magazine, as well as in the major fashion trade magazines. Wedding Bells Then marriage took me away from the fake tinsel of the fashion world for the real tinsel of baking pies. That lasted for about six months (not the marriage, the stay at home career). So it was back to the design world for me, this time designing fashions for young females. Pop, rock, jazz With a growing and strong pull to create music, I began spending nights and weekends fronting a jazz band called Zephyr. Then I was writing for and performing with a country/rock band High Noon, garnering rave reviews from Music Connection ("a most captivating and original singer...strong, personable stage presence..."). The Olympic Committee gave us the really fun opportunity to play three consecutive nights to thousands at the Olympic Village. From the Hollywood Bowl to TV Here are some other highlights since then: composer of the title themes for the "Future Consciousness" TV show and the "Ancient Wisdom for the Twenty First Century" TV show, on the air since 2004. Had a song on the TV series "Hard Times On Planet Earth." It was really exciting for me to perform twice at the Hollywood Bowl, once with a choir and the second time as part of a quartet. I also had an indie record deal with SOVI Records and got a great review in R&B Magazine. Later, I had a lot of fun touring nationally as lead singer and dancer for Déjà vu. What a thrill it was to sing a set of my songs at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Awards In addition to design awards, I was honored to be one of the winners of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Also, I received a Harmony Sweepstakes national a cappella competition award as a member of The Joy Of Six. Arianna Attie.
