Ann Caldwell works full time as a jazz, blues and R and B vocalist. Ann is a master of accents, accurately recreating the tonalities of speech which are important to both jazz and blues. ( anncaldwell.com ) While working on this project, Ann has aloud herself the privilege of being herself. She takes the liberty of interpreting lyrics using melody to set the mood and feeling of the song. She believes that music is a wonderful medium to use if you want to tell a story. While she is very aware of the nuances that go along with jazz singing, she has deliberately made a recording that she wants folks to listen to. It's great if you like to dance with a partner! Ann is fortunate to have the exceptional song writing contributions of Sean Waterman (Atlanta) and Donna Maria Smith (Washington,DC) Ann has a long list of performances as a jazz and blues singer. She performed with the newly formed Charleston Jazz Orchestra. Other performances include; Indigo Jazz Concert Japanese national Anthem Charleston Symphony Orchestra Gospel Choir The Harold Arland Story Gallery Chuma's Jazz on John Street Wrote and performed a short story at South of Broadway Theatre Gospel Music Concert at the Collage of Charleston Spirituals Concerts with the Magnolia Singers (accapella) 'When music is joined with lyrics, it is a marriage that affects us all, but only if we listen.'- Ann Caldwell To past the time Ann loves to do home improvement projects. She's got more tools than any guy in the band.
