Description

Zen Cappuccino on CD

Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Andrea did her first concert spring of 1992, playing at a bookstore anniversary celebration. She received a coffee cup for her efforts, setting the direction of her future music ... Since that time, Andrea has played at bookstores and coffee houses in Lansing, Michigan and Cincinnati, Ohio (where she now resides.) She has played at conventions across the US and in Canada. Andrea plays acoustic guitar, singing with and without accompaniment. She writes heart warming and quirky songs about simple pleasures, childhood tales, mythical creatures, and the natural world. As a child and teen, Andrea spent many summers tramping around Ontario, Canada, gaining an appreciation of the outdoors. An avid reader of science fiction, fantasy and myth, some of Andrea's songs reflect a fascination for the people and creatures in these stories. Her songs have been covered by a number of folk artists, including British singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Chris Conway and Winnipeg singer/songwriter/playwright Graham Leathers. Her song 'Magic Carpet' was nominated for a Pegasus Award in Columbus, Ohio in 1995. Her debut album A Step Out of Time was released in January, 1998. Her second release Zen Cappuccino serves up slice-of-life observations, fantastic worlds, children's campfire stories, travels around the world, and an occasional stop at the library along the way. Upbeat and positive with an occasional dash of danger and excitement, Zen Cappuccino encompasses arrangements from simple and quiet to active, intertwined, and just a little bit demented.
