Open Air in a Closed Casket

- Release Date:3/20/2007
Allan Boothe is a singer/songwriter who applies a refreshing perspective to dark and introspective themes with the emotive, child-like wonder of a young boy. He sings haunting and sometimes humorous lullabies using alliterative, elusive lyrics which seem to suggest the sense rather than simply state it. Inherently raw and intrinsically human, his voice has been described as 'forcefully fragile, high and throaty imperfection that captures his soulful sentiments in the same vein as Isaac Brock, Gordon Gano and Neil Young." Heavily influenced by Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, and Sufjan Stevens, Allan Boothe began writing songs in the local Tacoma folk community. Infusing his indie influences with folk music he came across a style which quickly made him a favorite performer at open-mics in the area. He soon branched out and began playing shows in coffee houses and small music venues in the Tacoma/Seattle area. After a few years of performing live, recording home-made demos and honing his songwriting skills, Allan has recently finished recording his debut CD with local Seattle producer Jon Goff at Self Adhesive Records titled 'Open Air in a Closed Casket'.
