It's Only Everything on CD

PYE Music proudly presents Alex Gladwin, with his debut EP, released in August 2005. Alex Gladwin is a 20 year old musician, singer and song writer from London, England, who has been playing the guitar for about six years, and started writing songs pretty much as soon as he picked up the guitar. Alex went on to learn the bass guitar and keyboard to give a more rounded feel to his home demo's and writing and it progressed to this EP. This debut EP is a collection of songs written over the past couple of years, and they were recorded in just over a handful of sessions between January and March 2005, with renowned London-based producer Ben Jones at his studio. Alex has released two tracks from this EP ('It's Only Everything' and 'Eyes') as radio singles in the UK through the hugely popular distribution service, Fastrax. They were both well received and have been described as catchy, Lennon-style pop/rock songs, and the other tracks on the EP also fit well under those labels. All the tracks on this EP were entirely written and performed by Alex Gladwin, and mixed and produced by Ben Jones. Mixing acoustic and electric guitars with keyboard, bass and programmed drums (by Ben Jones with Alex Gladwin), in a crisply produced, live band-style production. While I find it hard to describe which artists these songs sound the most similar to, I would say my main influences are classic British pop/rock groups such as The Beatles, Coldplay and Oasis, while I also enjoy and am strongly influenced by an eclectic array of artists, including the likes of Bob Dylan, The Verve, The Beach Boys, Embrace, Doves, Spiritualized and The Monkees to Public Enemy and many more. While my writing style is quite varied, I think it is fair to say the songs featured on this EP largely capture the more upbeat and poppier style of my writing, with the exception of 'Out of Time'. I'd like to end this by adding I would also like to thank anyone who buy's this CD, the support is greatly appreciated and I hope you all enjoy it. Any feedback is also appreciated and I'll reply to everything!
