Diamond in the Rough on CD

A talented 12 year old with a voice and stage presence twice her age! Alaska's Kit has gathered an impressive band of 'Kaboodles,' some of Juneau's finest musicians as band members and for recording her first professional CD. A mixture of big band sounds and folksy, traditional, classic and country music with a jazz touch. Letter from Kit - Hey everybody - this is Kit. I'm so pleased to have this CD out and I'm glad you bought it! It is called Diamond in the Rough because this CD is still a work in progress and we hope to have a fully polished CD sometime soon. There are a lot of people who I would like to thank for helping me to get to where I am today. Missouri Smyth, the best choir director in all the world, who taught me so much about music in the five years I was in the Alaska Youth Choir. Kari Groven, my voice coach from Norway, who sure knows how to tame jazz! The 'uncle' who helped inspire me to do music, Sean Tracey, the absolute best harmonica player in town. Simon Taylor who came in when he was absolutely exhausted from a full day of work and could still record the bass while almost asleep (that is how good he is)! Top saxophonist, Doug Bridges, who kept on recording until his 'chops' could no longer move! Dale McFarlin, who kept the beat, and could make thunder sound musical. I could not believe though that I was lucky enough to get John Knight to record on my CD, the best pedal steel player ever! And a HUGE thank you to Steve Wilde for showing me the way!! Last but not least, My Parents, who support me through and through. You guys are the best in the world!! As a special bonus feature we've included Little Drummer Girl, my Christmas single that I released last year as a Christmas gift to Juneau when I was twelve. Hope you enjoy this! Kit.
